Develops understanding of principles of universal web design. Students apply this understanding by designing and developing accessible web site using web authoring tools. Spring 2007
- EDIT 575 / Podcasting
Enables students to design and publish an educational podcast series. Students are introduced to podcasting through hands-on lab instruction with iTunes, Audacity, and Garageband. Students design podcasts to meet different instructional and training goals using a variety of podcasting formats. Students learn the process of recording, editing and broadcasting audio-based educational materials. Spring 2007
- EDIT 601 / Instructional Design and Development Portfolio
Enables students to create and publish an electronic portfolio that demonstrates effective and meaningful integration and syntheses of Instructional Design and Development (IDD) concepts, principles, and competencies learned across coursework at mid program point. Students will understand the principles of a portfolio from a cognitive perspective and the tools and processes used to create and publish an electronic portfolio. The course will enable each student to develop an electronic portfolio that represents the scope and depth of his/her goals, plans, and accomplishments in coursework, and provides both a vehicle for self-reflection and a comprehensive record of a student's experiences and ongoing progress toward academic and professional goals. Students should have completed approximately 12-15 credits of program coursework prior to taking this course. Summer 2008

Explores educational opportunities through electronic networks and telecommunications. Hands-on activities focus on planning, implementation, and evaluation. Students discuss emerging applications, and how new approaches to learning can be integrated into today's classrooms. Spring 2008

- EDIT 771 / Introduction to Multimedia/Hypermedia
Provides an overview of issues and tools used within the field of instructional design. This course focuses on the development of skills necessary to implement hypermedia/multimedia ideas into the production process. Online discussions, practical application and student reflections will allow students to gain an understanding of the design process and practice using the basic features of Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash from the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Design Standard/Premium package to develop a web site. - EDIT 772 / Flash
Provides an overview of Macromedia Flash using guided lecture materials and a hands-on approach. The course includes a review of the Flash interface, features, tools, and specific concepts relating to how graphics and animation are created using the product. Students apply the knowledge and skills learned by creating several Flash products throughout the course. Summer 2007
- EDRS 590 / Educational Research
Helps students develop skills, insights, and understanding basic to performing research, with emphasis on interpretation and application of research results. The course critiques research and uses findings in educational settings. Summer 2008
